Permitted use
OpenSourcesAI is a developer-oriented reference and tooling directory. You may access and use the site for personal research, educational purposes, and non-commercial technical evaluation. Automated scraping, bulk reproduction of site content, or redistribution of our proprietary taxonomy, directory layouts, or scoring logic without written permission is prohibited.
Browser AI playground — experimental environment
The Browser AI Playground is an experimental, client-side sandbox that loads compatible open-weight model weights into your browser using WebGPU and the WebLLM runtime. All inference runs locally on your own hardware. No prompt payloads, generated text, or model outputs are transmitted to or stored on OpenSourcesAI servers.
Playground outputs are generated in real time by downloaded model weights operating in your local browser session. Outputs should not be treated as verified, professional, commercial, medical, legal, or financial guidance. Model performance, token throughput, and output quality vary by hardware, browser version, driver support, and the specific model checkpoint loaded.
The playground is provided strictly for evaluation and educational purposes. OpenSourcesAI makes no representations about the accuracy, fitness for purpose, or safety of any text generated by models running in the playground.
Hardware and VRAM liability limitation
Running large quantized language models in a browser environment places sustained compute, memory bandwidth, and thermal load on consumer hardware components. By using the Browser AI Playground or following any local inference configuration guidance published on this site, you acknowledge and accept that:
- OpenSourcesAI is not responsible for any hardware damage, thermal throttling, reduced component lifespan, system instability, browser crashes, or operating system failures arising from running model inference workloads on your personal machine.
- Video memory (VRAM) exhaustion, out-of-memory errors, GPU driver resets, or display adapter failures resulting from loading model weights that exceed your hardware's available VRAM are solely the user's responsibility to anticipate and manage.
- VRAM estimates, quantization tier recommendations, and runtime compatibility notes published on this site are informational approximations. Actual resource consumption varies by runtime version, context length, operating system, driver version, and concurrent system workload.
- You are responsible for verifying that your hardware meets the minimum requirements before initiating any local model inference session.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, OpenSourcesAI, its operators, contributors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from hardware strain, data loss, system downtime, or any other outcome connected to local model inference activity described or facilitated by this site.
Content accuracy and no-warranty clause
Model profiles, tool listings, hardware compatibility notes, benchmark references, license descriptions, and configuration guidance are provided for informational purposes only and are subject to change without notice as the AI ecosystem evolves rapidly.
OpenSourcesAI provides all content on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Always verify model cards, licenses, and tool documentation directly from official sources before production or commercial use.
